Main Building of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków — Al. Adama Mickiewicza 30, Kraków
Accessibility of the building entrance and movement through controlled areas
The main entrance to the building is located at Aleja Mickiewicza 30. There are stairs (7 steps) at the entrance. This entrance is not accessible for wheelchair users.
For wheelchair users, an entrance at the back of the building on the northern courtyard side has been adapted, where an elevator to the building is located. Intercoms are installed at the entrance and exit of the courtyard to contact the porter’s lodge in case the gate is closed. Persons with mobility impairments cannot access the porter’s lodge – there is no level access between level -1 and the porter’s lodge (6 steps) and between level 0 and the porter’s lodge (16 steps).
Accessibility of corridors, stairs, and elevators
The corridors in the building allow free movement – there are no level differences. Access to the entire basement level and part of the low ground floor (to the northern and southern wings) is limited.
The stairs do not have special facilities for persons with disabilities, except for access to rooms no. 380–383, where a platform lift has been installed.
The building is equipped with 3 passenger elevators:
- two internal elevators with dimensions: 1.1 x 1.3 m, operating between floors from -1 (low ground floor) to the 3rd floor (-1, 0, 1, 2, 3), partially adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities.
- an external elevator, serving as an entrance/exit from the northern courtyard side, adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities, operating between floors from ground level outside the building (P) to the 2nd floor (P, -1, 0, 1, 2).
The elevators are equipped with voice announcements and Braille labels.
There are two toilets for persons with disabilities in the building, located on the first and third floors.
The Main Auditorium of AGH is equipped with an FM hearing support system.
Information on the location and use of parking spaces designated for persons with disabilities
